Brewer’s Cup in the Works

So much work goes on behind the scenes of the Brewer’s Cup. Commercial and homebrew alike, there were a ridiculous amount of entries to process for this event. We happened to snag some photos of the process this year. Good luck to all who entered!

Behind The Scenes at the Brewer’s Cup

I got the opportunity to help sort out all of the entries for The Brewer’s Cup Competition today! What a great experience. I had no idea how much work went into making this event happen. Literally hundreds, if not thousands of beers were submitted to Sun King Brewery. Each entry was numbered and entered into an Excel spreadsheet to keep them all straight. The stewards had cases of beer lined up like the opening text sequence in Star Wars. As a matter of fact, the beer you see in these pictures was really just the tip of the iceberg. Judging will take place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on July 6-7, 2012. See you there 🙂

Registration Window Open For Indiana Brewer’s Cup

Registration has begun for the Indiana Brewer’s Cup at the State Fair. Three bottles per entry will need to be submitted to Sun King Brewery between now and June 22nd along with a $10 entry fee which can be submitted here. Each bottle will need to have a completed bottle ID form affixed to it with a rubber band. Once submitted, each exhibitor will receive two tickets to the Brewers’ Cup Award Reception on Saturday, July 7 at 6:00 pm on the Indiana State Fairgrounds where the results will be announced. Make sure that your bottles are not labeled or caps marked in any way as it may disqualify your entry. For those of you just now bottling, you should still have more than enough time for your entries to condition. Best of luck!
