Three Weeks Until Our BIMP Beer Tour
BIMP’s first brewery tour kicks off on January 30th. We’ll be renting a 15 passenger van for the trip with plenty of room for multiple coolers in the back for any special brews we buy along the way. We’ll also have a designated driver/chauffeur to take us to each brewery. The event kicks off on Wednesday January 30th at People’s Brewery in Lafayette, IN. From there, our forces will drive North towards Crown Brewery on our way up to Three Floyd’s Brewing Company where we will retire for the evening. I am planning on staying at the Fairfield Inn in Hammond, IN. The next day we’ll move towards Founder’s Brewery on our way to Bell’s Brewery. Keller Williams will be playing that night at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe on January 31st, which should be pretty sweet. I plan on staying at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Kalamazoo that night (It’s 1/2 mile from the brewery). The next day we’ll meander over to Dark Horse Brewery for lunch on our way to Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales, as we slowly and surely move our jolly butts to Brugge Brasserie in Broad Ripple Indiana. How can we cap this evening off you say? Another night of Keller over at the Vogue on February 1st. You can reserve a yourself a seat for $60. This price covers all gas for the trip as well as the chauffeur that will take us to each brewery and drop us off at our hotels. I’m really looking forward to this trip and I hope you’ll come along.
Daredevil Brewing Co. Opening Soon!
Daredevil Brewing Co. will be opening very soon according to their blog/website. This new central Indiana based brewery will be offering a Belgian Golden Ale and a West Coast Style IPA for their launch in January of 2013. The brewery was created by two award winning craft brewers, Bill Ballinger and Michael Pearson, and a talented craft beer enthusiast, Shane Pearson. Bill Ballinger and Michael Pearson are both homebrewers who have won several awards at the Indiana Brewer’s Cup for their work, including the Brewer of the Year award. They are also founding members of the MECA homebrew club. If you are interested in tasting some of their new brews, I’ve just confirmed that they will be at Winterfest this year. Looking forward to their grand opening!

1st Annual BIMP Brewery Tour
So uh… Haha. I’m planning a brewery tour this January/February. Who’s in? The tour begins on Wednesday January 30th at People’s Brewery in Lafayette, IN. From there, our forces will drive North towards Crown Brewery on our way up to Three Floyd’s Brewing Company where we will retire for the evening. The next day we’ll move towards Founder’s Brewery on our way to Bell’s Brewery. Keller Williams will be playing that night at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe on January 31st, which should be pretty sweet. It’s quite the adventure, and I’m sure there is some leeway to add/remove a brewery along the way. Let me know who’s game.
Wonderful Beer Paintings for Beer Lovers
So I came across a really great blog tonight as I searching for brewing art. Beer Paintings – Original Art for Beer Lovers By Beer Lovers is a blog showcasing some fantastic oil paintings that integrate bottle caps, hops, and other beer odds and ends. I’m really impressed with these paintings! They even have an Etsy page where you can order custom oil paintings of your favorite brewery bottle caps! Please take some time to drop by their site (beerpaintings.blogspot.com) as they do an excellent job. Much respect!

Brewery Tour Planning Simplified
Thinking of taking a road trip and hitting up a few breweries along the way? Use the Brewer’s Guild of Indiana’s My Tour web application. The app allows you to add locations based off of the brewery name or a beer that brewery makes. It creates a customized map with brewery addresses and phone numbers to help you visualize your trip!
