Upland is putting on Indy’s first Sour ale festival on May 12th. Upland’s Sour + Wild + Funk Fest will be pretty awesome! Upland’s page touts that they will “have more than 30 styles of sour ales from around the state, country, and world, and all paired with foods designed to accentuate the unique flavors of these specialty beers.” Brugge, Sun King, and Mad Anthony will also be rocking out their Sours.

Three Floyd’s just tweeted that they will be releasing a new Oyster Stout with guest brewers from Half Acre Beer Company. A shame too, as it would have been a great addition to our Stout Bout! Mutiny and the Mollusk is available on tap at Three Floyd’s and will be available in bombers for $9 a pop. Although it sounds completely off the wall, oysters and Stout beer go together like peas and carrots 🙂 They have commonly been served together in New Zealand and the U.K. since the late 1920’s, however true “nourishing” stouts brewed with oysters originated just after WWII.

Thinking of taking a road trip and hitting up a few breweries along the way? Use the Brewer’s Guild of Indiana’s My Tour web application. Stout Bout is almost here, which can only mean one thing… You need to Request a Brew! We’ve got 3 open seats for entries if you are interested. I wouldn’t expect that you would see anything as epic as this graphic at the tasting, but YOU WILL get to try at least 15 epic stouts! Make the right decision. Don’t make me send this raptor riding a great white shark, while holding lit dynamite and firing an automatic weapon to your house… Seriously… It won’t end well.
